2009 JCI World Congress for first time in Tunisia
国際青年会議所２００９年度世界会議　初めてチュニジアで開催

国際青年会議所２００９年度の世界会議の開催地としてチュニジア屈指のリゾート地ハマメットが選ばれました。＜ローカルアクションを通じてのグローバルインパクト＞をテーマに１１月１６日から２１日までの日程（関連イベントは１４日から）で開催されます。
今回の世界会議は会員数の拡大、気候変動対策を主なゴールに挙げています。
先日チュニスで行われた記者会見では、２００５年の世界情報社会サミット（WSIS）以来の大イベントであることが発表されました。国際青年会議所世界会議には１２０カ国から約５０００人の代表団が集結する予定です。
同イベントでは、さらにオラトリーアート、最優秀ビジネスプラン、セントラル・ヨーク教育協会の各世界コンテストの決勝戦も行われます。
主要企業を紹介する国際トレードブース（見本市）、ビジネス間ミーティングも予定されています。
日本からは約７００名の参加が見込まれ、２０日には社団法人日本青年会議所の主催により、日本国内各地のPRを兼ねたブースが出展されるジャパンナイトが開催されます。
今回のような国際的大イベントがアラブ諸国、アフリカ諸国で開催されるのは初めてのケースになります。

The 2009 Junior Chamber International World Congress will take place from November 16 to 21, 2009　(from November 14 for associated events) in Hammamet on the theme ‘Global Impact through local action’ . The congress will focus on two main goals, namely membership growth, and climate change.
During a press conference held in Tunis on Friday the organisers said that the event is the second largest event organised in Tunisia after the WSIS, the World Summit on the information society which Tunisia organised in 2005.
The JCI General assembly will gather some 5000 delegates from 120 countries, they said, adding that the event will also feature the final phase of world competition of oratory art, as well as that of the Best Business Plan and of the Central York Education Association (CYEA). An international fair showcasing leading companies and B2B meetings is also scheduled.
It is the first time an Arab and African country organizes such a a major JCI event.
